The Lakeshore Humane Society is honored to receive a $10,000 grant to help extend our efforts and serve the Petco Foundation’s mission to raise the quality of life for pets and people who love and need them. The generous gift will be used for pre-adoption spay and neuter costs as we do our part in reducing the overwhelming animal population that enters shelter doors across the nation.

Beginning February 2015, all volunteers will need to submit a new application and attend one of our monthly orientations prior to volunteering. To work with our dogs, there will be an additional “Dogs 101” session required. Volunteer applications will then need to be renewed on a yearly basis.
ORIENTATIONS WILL RUN THE 3RD SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 10AM @ LHS. The “Dogs 101” Session will immediately follow.
THANK YOU!! We couldnt do it without you!
Lakeshore Humane Society would like to introduce you to our new reading program, Cat-Tales. In an effort to keep our cats socialized and happy, and help kids keep up with their reading, we'd like to invite readers from grades K-6 to stop in with their favorite book and sit in a colony room of their choice to read out loud. We have forms to fill out to keep track of your time. For every 20 minute block of time read you get to pick a prize of a sticker or pencil. For every 3 twenty minute blocks of time read you can pick from other prizes such as a paws bracelet, charm or small stuffed pet. For every 6 blocks of time read we will place a $5.00 adoption fee sponsorship on an animal of your choice. Stop in at the Front Desk and ask for a Cat-Tales form and get reading!
If you have any questions about the Cat Tales Reading Program, please email Tina at email@example.com or call the shelter at 920-684-5401 for further assistance!
It is a fun and easy way to get kids involved and make a difference our shelter cats lives. Kids will benefit from the confidence they will gain from practicing reading! Hope to see all cat-lovin' kids reading at the shelter!
LHS is in great need of volunteers to help out with the daily laundry and dishes, morning or evening cat cubby care at Petco one day a week, and transportation of LHS animals to and from veterinary clinics some weekdays.

What is a Keeper? A Keeper is a donor that month after month gives of themselves so that the thousands of animals that go through the shelter doors have a safe place to stay when there is nowhere else to go. A place to enjoy a warm bed, a bowl of food, fresh water and a kind hand to scratch their head.
All of which can be provided to these animals because of you.
How do small donations change lives?$5
- May give a dog his first toy in years$10
– Will feed a mother and her kittens for a day$20
- Can give an animal life saving vaccinations$50
– Spays or Neuters a pet to allow them a longer, happier life while helping to reduce the number of unwanted animals that are born.
The benefits of becoming a keeper of the humane society are two fold:
- It allows you to budget better knowing exactly how much and when your donation will take place.
- It also allows the shelter to plan and improve ordering since we will have a steady stream of donations from all our ‘keepers’ just like you!
You can become a Keeper by donating via paypal or by downloading our brochure
and mailing or dropping it off at the Lakeshore humane Society.
Celebrate a life you share together now, or a memory you hold dear, express your appreciation or love for your family or pet through an imprinted tile.
