Code of Ethics of the Lakeshore Humane Society, Inc.

In the interest of the welfare and promotion of all animals of all kinds, and in the interest and promotion of the Lakeshore Humane Society, we, the Board of Directors, set forth this Code of Ethics.

No members shall participate in the wholesale selling of animals to such places as catalog houses pet dealers, or any speculative source of distribution. Members shall not participate in the offering of animals as prizes in raffles, contests, or drawings of any sort. No member shall solicit animals for the above purposes.

All personal companion animals shall receive appropriate annual veterinary care, and receive yearly vaccinations against communicable diseases.

No member’s shall have been convicted of, or involved with, any form of animal abuse.

The President of the Board of Directors, or a person designated by the President, shall be the official spokesperson for the Lakeshore Humane Society.

The Lakeshore Humane Society, and its reputation, should be a prime concern of all members, and should be placed above individual prestige or monetary gain. Every effort should be made on the part of members to reconcile and settle divergent problems within the Society ranks, and in accordance with existing By Laws.

When participating in any activity the Society undertakes, members will conduct themselves in a courteous manner which will be a credit to themselves, the Society, and the animals they represent.

Each member of the Lakeshore Humane Society has a moral obligation to adhere to this Code of Ethics and to conduct themselves in a manner befitting a person dedicated to the improvement and protection of all animals.
