LHS does require appointments to surrender your pet and there is a requested fee to cover the care of the animal during his or her stay at the shelter. The fee can be discussed when calling for appointments.
If you need to surrender a pet, below are a few things to bring with/expect during your visit:
- Please bring along any veterinary records you may have, including the name and contact information for your veterinarian.
- Be prepared to complete surrender forms and provide information about your pet, to help us begin the process of finding a new, loving home.
- Understand that while we realize you will want to know what happens with your pet; we cannot provide specific updates. We help over 1,500 animals a year at LHS and are unable to provide personal updates.
